2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Technology

The 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is a crossover SUV designed to outstrip most other vehicles of its type in comfort, size, and power. It especially stands out with regard to its variety of technology options. Chalfont, Warrington, and Doylestown buyers are welcome to visit Fred  Beans Hyundai to take a look.

Technology

This year's model comes with a dizzying array of state-of-the-art technological features. Standard technology includes cruise control, automatic passenger windows, air conditioning, and a tilting and telescoping steering column with an array of wheel-mounted control buttons. The audio system has auxiliary and USB inputs, Bluetooth and Blue Link, as well as HD radio. The turbo model adds even more, including heated mirrors, fog lights, roof rails, and a power driver's seat.

Among the available high-tech features are a blind spot warning system, rear parking assist, a 4.5- or an 8-inch touchscreen navigation system, a pair of ventilated and/or heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a clever new hands-free power liftgate that opens as soon as you move behind the car with the key.

Further optional technology includes several choices for upgraded audio systems, dual-zone automatic temperature controls, xenon headlights, LED taillights, and heated rear seats.

Capability and Performance

The 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport has a six-speed automatic transmission paired with either a 2.4-liter I-4 engine with 190 horsepower or a 2.0-liter turbo I-4 with 264 horsepower. In addition, the turbo option brings the torque from 181 lb-ft up to 269 lb-ft, further boosting its tow capacity.

It's available as a four-wheel or a front-wheel drive and equipped with an excellent suspension system noted for its versatility and smoothness.

Interior

The 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is a comfortable six-seater with plentiful cargo space. The driver controls are designed with an eye to ease of use and reach.

The passenger bench folding seatbacks have a 40/20/40 split, with optional reclining seats and increased fore-and-aft travel. All seats are available with either leather or stain-resistant Yes Essentials material, and both the driver and passenger seats are comfortable even for long drives. The passenger seats in particular are far roomier than is typical for crossover SUVs, which also translates to better-than-average cargo space, topping out at just over 71 cubic feet when the seats are folded down.

Exterior

Last year's sleek design has been retained with a few tweaks, including new daytime running lights and a streamlined front grille. The standard 17-inch alloy wheels can be swapped for 18- or 19-inch wheels with the turbo option.
