Coming in late 2017, the 2018 Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid is the newest trend in EVs. There are a few things we won't find out until closer to the release date, but there's still plenty to be excited about with the new model.

Preview the amazing features of the Hyundai Ioniq Plug-In with a courteous sales rep at Fred Beans Hyundai. For our customers in Chalfont, Warrington and Doylestown, we've compiled all the great features and perks of this new model with our in-depth preview.

2018 Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid Engine Power

The 2018 Hyundai Ioniq Plug-In is equipped with a 1.6-liter GDI Atkinsons Cycle four-cylinder engine with an 8.9-kWh lithium-ion polymer battery system, mated to a six-speed EcoShift Dual Clutch Transmission. This engine is the same as the Ioniq Hybrid, but it has a larger battery and an output of 139 horsepower.

The Ioniq Plug-In is promising a minimum of 27 miles of electric range when fully charged and up to 590 miles in hybrid mode, and we can expect a fuel economy somewhere close to the 58 mpg that the Ioniq Hybrid is capable of, since it uses the same powertrain.

Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid  Features

The new Hyundai Ioniq Plug-In comes standard with an array of features. Hill-start assist control, a rearview camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, automatic headlights and seven airbags are standard safety features for the base Plug-In Hybrid, but the Limited expands on those offerings with blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, LED headlights, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with a compass and HomeLink and complimentary 3-year Blue Link Telematics, Connect Care package and Remote package standard.

The base model also includes approach lighting, a proximity key and push-button start, heated seating, power accessories, Bluetooth connectivity, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, cruise control, a 4.2-inch LCD instrument cluster display with Hybrid Technology, illuminated mirrors, a 7-inch touchscreen display for audio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, satellite radio and HD radio. The Limited includes a few additional features, such as a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster, a power-adjustable driver's seat, memory functions, leather upholstery and chrome accents.

The 2018 Ioniq Plug-In also uses bio-fabrics, sugar cane and volcanic stone and recycled plastics throughout the interior to enhance its sustainability and eco-consciousness, without compromising its refinement and style.

Hyundai EV Interior Style

Unlike other EVs, the Ioniq Plug-In has a remarkable resemblance to its gasoline siblings. It has clean lines, stylish sculpting and attractive wheels. Inside, high-quality materials and refined accents complete its overall appeal.

There's plenty of space as well. The logical arrangement and design of the dash creates an airy feel in the cabin, sculpted seating, 60/40-split folding rear seats and 23.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats upright. Hyundai hasn't realized the full cargo volume with the seats folded yet, but it's likely to be competitive for the segment.
